Sadly, the game isn't as perfect as I had wanted it. I will do another release in a couple of months to finish it off!!!


Power-ups:

The powerups in SWIV fit into two categories: protection, and weapon upgrades.

Shoot the shield containers to release a shield. The default shield protects you from 300 damage points, but beware - its power slowly decreases over time. Take a bullet and the shield loses 50 points - hit an enemy and it loses 100.

If you pick up another shield while already carrying one, your shield is boosted back up to 300% and a nuclear explosion is set off, destroying all enemies on screen (apart from bosses). Similarly, a nuke is also set off if you shoot a shield bubble enough without picking it up.


When you kill a Goose miniboss, you receive several weapons power-ups. Shooting them changes their mode. They do the following things:

Dollar sign: invulnerability for 15 seconds (cumulative - collect two, and you're unkillable for 30 seconds, etc)

Two blue arrows: Add an extra shell to your weapon - also cancels shot spreading.

Four yellow arrows: Increase your rate of fire.

Two spread red arrows: Spread your shots.

You keep your rate of fire when you die, but all of your other weapons are lost.

Once in a while, you'll also get a Nuke (atomic explosion icon - use your Nuke button to set it off at an opportune moment); a +500% shield upgrade (grey bubble), which boosts your shield over the normal 300% maximum; or an extra life (green '1UP').
